Planet 51 is worth watching
Last night, I ordered the new movie ‘Planet 51′ from Direct Star TV on demand service in high definition. We made some popcorn and had a family night. The movie may confuse the younger generation with some of the science fiction references, but it was still a really great movie.
I like how the creators of the movie flipped it around to where the humans are the ‘aliens’. This is something that I have never seen done before and it really has a lot of potential. Seeing a NASA trained astronaut running frantically through the alien city is sure to produce some laughs from all age groups. It gives a refreshing outlook for an area of films that have been reproduced far too many times.
There are several typical parodies that you would expect from an ‘alien’ movie. There are countless ‘Star Wars’ and ‘ET’ jokes. If you love science fiction movies, then this film will not leave you disappointed. While it is directed mainly at children, even adults will have a great time with the references to ‘Area 51′ and many other popular scenes.
One of the funniest characters that you will see in the movie, is a small robot named ‘Rover’ that thinks he’s a dog. Rover’s mission is to collect mineral samples to take back to Earth for analyzing. But what makes this odd machine so hilarious is that he’s so focused on collecting these rocks, that he completely overlooks the aliens that surround him. It runs around wildly, searching for anything that it can possibly get in to. And when it meets up with the alien dog, this scene is sure to make even the toughest man crack a smile.
Overall, this movie was hysterical in every aspect. I would recommend this movie to everybody, not just children.
